Mountain Silverbell is a small, graceful understory tree or shrub that typically grows up to 60 feet tall, adorned with delicate white or pinkish bell-shaped flowers that dangle from its twiggy branches in spring. These charming blooms are followed by unique four-winged fruits that turn tan and add interest in the fall. The bark of young trees is attractively striped, maturing into a pattern of white furrows between gray-brown plates. Its deciduous leaves are dark yellow-green in summer, transitioning to a bright yellow in autumn.
