Dancing Wind' is a type of big bluestem grass which is a bluish-green grass that was the dominant plant of the tallgrass prairies of the midwest. This plant is called 'Dancing Wind' because of its bright red fall color which is retained throughout winter and the graceful dance of the grass in the wind.

'Dancing Wind' grows to about 6 feet high and 3 feet wide and prefers sunny, well drained spots. It bears seed heads in fall which provide food for birds and small animals and self-seeds readily. Cut back the grass in late winter or early spring. This grass works well as a specimen or as a massed planting, or as a backdrop to other plants.
