'Sike's Dwarf' is a compact, mounded cultivar that grows 2-3 feet tall and 3-4 feet wide. It is smaller with more modest-sized leaves and flower panicles, and a slower, less vigorous growth habit with fewer root suckers. In late spring, it blooms with showy, elongated white flower panicles that fade to pink and brown by late summer, persisting into winter. The plant’s deeply-lobed, oak-like leaves (up to 5" long) turn bronze, maroon, and purple in autumn, while exfoliating stems reveal rich brown inner bark for winter interest.
