This low-growing hybrid found originally in the mountains of Eastern Europe forms a low spreading mat of fragrant, dark green leaves bearing clusters of white flowers with a tinge of soft pink. 'Biokovo' slowly spreads by underground shoots or runners and its very long flowering period, starting in spring and continuing through mid-summer, sets it apart from other Geraniums. An especially useful low groundcover or edging plant, 'Biokovo' will make itself right at home in a cottage or woodland garden but also works well in mixed containers. For best performance and flower power, plant it in full to partial sun and in fertile, well-drained soil. Once established 'Biokovo' is fairly drought tolerant and, added to the fact that it is deer and rabbit resistant, this tough, compact groundcover is a definite keeper. And, if that was not enough to make you a believer, the added bonus of a nice burgundy-red foliage color in the fall may put you over the top!
